Shetland fiddlers wear nielanell knitwear at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Nielanell was honoured to win the commission to design the outfits worn by ‘Hjaltibonhoga’ - the Shetland Fiddlers - at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (The Tattoo) in August 2014.

The Shetland Fiddlers' theme was the Mirrie Dancers (Northern Lights). The specially designed knitwear was made here in the village by Laurence Odie and his team who did a fabulous job in knitting the pieces for all of the fiddlers.

Traditional Shetland knit, transformed

Inspired by the colours, lights and majesty of the Mirrie Dancers, Nielanell’s highly original costumes showcase her ability to transform traditional Shetland knit.

A limited edition Mirrie Dancers collection is available for women.
