Behind the scenes...

On a bleary bleak day in mid-April, an unexpectedly huge minibus arrived in Hoswick bearing my wonderfully enthusiastic creative team from Edinburgh, together with more photography equipment than I have ever seen.

I have never been so nervous in my life, I would rather have been facing a nasty, horrible criminal trial with a scary judge - in my previous career! However Astrid, Gail, Fiona and Angus were very upbeat and entirely focused – we had a lot to do in 5 days.

Props and backdrops of every description were unloaded – and imagine my horror when I found that the visitor centre – the photography studio - was having a new roof put on!

Despite this, set-up soon started and Angus started shooting, and shooting, and shooting…

The photos say it all.

Heartfelt thanks, in no particular order, to my lovely, lovely models – none of them professional, each one of them just perfect.

Claire, Emelia, Izabela, Samantha and Minty.  To Louise, Fiona H, Anne Marie, Katie, Kate, Clair and Joan.  Fiona, Gail and Astrid all multi-tasked, and modelled as well as directed.

My indispensible Samuel, as always, was perfect – he did a wonderful job doing make-up.

And his mother Joyce ensured we were the best-fed troupe ever as she served up THE most delicious Italian fare.

Eric and Minty both worked hard to ensure we had knitwear made to photograph.

At this stage, I would also like to mention Daniel Sutherland – he mentored me and designed my first site, and got me going to the place we are today.

I must also thank HIE for their invaluable support, Elaine in particular has been an enthusiastic driving force.  Their confidence in me is inspiring.

Most of all, thanks to my unstintingly supportive and uber-talented web, design and marketing team - Astrid Johnston and Jai Redden, Gail Turpin and Fiona Duff - they have gone far, far beyond what anybody could ever have asked of them to ensure I have the very best of the best.

And of course the star of the shoot – photographer Angus Bremner (words defeat me…).
