I’m really looking forward to opening up today, May Day, indeed we have had quite a few folk in already this month. I've been working on some new designs and hope to get these into the studio over the next few weeks. I've enjoyed the winter season, it's a time to reflect and become immersed in my own art and design practice - I hope you enjoy reading about my creative excursions in the newsletter and here on the website.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to Helen Robertson who is joining us this year to help out in the studio. Helen is a talented jewellery designer whose work is inspired by textiles. I look forward to working with her, she's sure to bring some fresh and imaginative ideas to the studio. She's also a very keen knitter so I'm hoping she will be able to help me pick up my dropped stitches.
Our new neighbour Rosemary is tending to the flowers outside the studio - we will be sprucing up the old spinning wheels with a fresh coat of lime green or neon pink paint - just to add a bit of sparkle to the studio front. Megan has been poorly but will be back soon we hope - get well soon Megan! And finally, Samuel, star of all stars, will be back on Sundays, so do come and see him.
The Hoswick Visitor Centre will be serving refreshments, and Laurence Odie will have some irresistible bargains.
So do visit us and remember that even if it is out of hours we can always open up any time to suit you - neighbours have been known to open for visitors in my absence!
