contemporary scottish knitwear, designed in response to deep time
Have you ever heard of the phrase 'deep time'? I hadn't, until I made a visit to Ness of Brodgar in Orkney, which is the site of a fascinating archaeological dig.
That visit was the catalyst for my new collection, Inklines.
In a sort of Northern Isles ideas exchange, I've designed five new pieces of knitwear.
The pattern—and some of the garment shapes—have grown out of my thinking about deep time, and also how we mark time...which I've represented in a graphic timeline, in ink and then knit.
